In response to last week’s announcement that Vodafone will exclusively launch the RIM (Research In Motion) 7100 in this country, O2 has entered into an agreement to make the BlackBerry 7290 available.
The BlackBerry 7290 is designed for customers who want a compact, all-in-one device with messaging capabilities, integrated phone, organiser and web-browser. The BlackBerry 7290 features all the elements of existing BlackBerry 7200 series handhelds, including a compact, ergonomic handheld design, high-resolution colour screen that supports over 65,000 colours, QWERTY keyboard, plus integrated support for corporate and personal email, phone, SMS, organiser, Internet and intranet applications.
AT A GLANCE: The BlackBerry 7290 will include: - Quad-band support for GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900MHz frequencies - Bluetooth - A brighter LED backlight - Updated QWERTY keyboard with improved numberic keypad - 32MB flash memory and 4MB SRAM to improve storage capabilities
It is expected to be available from O2 in the UK, Germany and Ireland from November 2004.
