Sony busts a move with its colourful Network WALKMAN E400 and E500 flash music players, offered in 256MB, 512MB and 1GB versions. The NW-E400 range comes in black, blue, red and green. With a built-in FM radio, the NW-E500 range ups the ante in shades of silver, gold, pink and blue. Shuffling away from Apple’s latest brainchild, a 3-line LCD panel displays song info, time and date. Music lovers transfer MP3 and AAC tracks while recharging their player using the USB port. The NW-E400 and E500 series provide a skip-free listening experience and an estimated 50-hour battery life. If you’re in a hurry, a 3-minute recharge will provide 3 hours of playback. The players make their debut in April, pricing to be confirmed.
