Rumours have been circulating in recent weeks about a number of new devices from PalmOne. The first to be officially announced is the Tungsten E2 (£169 inc. VAT), which is the new entry-level model in its business line.
The colour screen supports 320 x 320-pixel resolution, making it ideal for business use or for the playback of videos. The Tungsten E2 handheld comes with a powerful 200MHz Intel XScale processor and 32MB of RAM (26MB user available), while the expansion slot supports the now commonplace SD(IO) card.
Wireless connectivity is present in the form of Bluetooth, which means that users can hook it up their mobile phone for collecting and sending email, for example. The Tungsten E2 comes with DataViz's Documents To Go software, which lets mobile professionals carry important Word, Excel and PowerPoint files so they can be more productive wherever they are. And with a simple conversion step, Acrobat PDF files can be viewed.
