Renewing faith in the PC market, after last years figures indicated a surprising downturn, latest sales figures from market data specialists Canalys, have shown a significant rise - once again establishing laptop and desktop computing technology as a strong and expanding arena.
Statistics show that laptop technology has now reached figures of an over 28-percent year-on-year rise, ensuring that mobile computing now represent nearly 32-percent of all PC shipments within Europe. Sales growth has not been purely limited to laptop purchases either, as desktop PC’s have also seen a reassuring upturn.
As the desire for more accessibility grows, laptops continue to prove a consistently popular choice. As the technology develops - and in some cases even eclipses - desktop rivals, sales are sure to increase even more, in 2005. Whatever the result, one thing can be certain. It is we the consumers that will reap much of the benefits, as portable PC’s move further into the future.
