NEC GO FOR THE BROKE 28/09/2004

We all love a bargain, especially when we’re looking for a laptop, and it seems that NEC is about to help the cash-strapped portable buyer with the introduction of its website. www.nec-discount.co.uk will offer laptops at hugely discounted prices. 

As an example, NEC is offering the NEC Versa P520 (reviewed in the November issue of WL) with Intel Pentium M 1.5GHz processor, 256MB DDR SDRAM memory and 40GB hard disk for £703 (inc. VAT). The P520 comes with a 14.1-inch TFT panel and is fully Wi-Fi enabled. Microsoft Windows XP Professional and a 3-year warranty come as standard. It is expected that NEC will add more laptops and PDAs to its discounted offerings over the coming weeks.
