ACME MADE THE SLIM - GOLD
The Slim range from ACME Made is available through Mac Attire in the UK. Although initially designed for Apple laptops, the range is now also available for other well-known brands such as Dell, Toshiba and Sony. The bags come in a number of different patterns, colours and fabrics. As their name suggests, the bags are thin and fit the laptops very snugly, with room for little else. There are no internal pockets, just one zipped pocket on the front for storing a few papers. The inside of the case is attractively quilted, providing a reasonable amount of protection — but not enough for the most serious knocks and bumps. Because it’s so slim, it’s been designed to double up as a slipcase that you can put inside a larger bag, making it a versatile and lightweight case.

LEVENGER MAJORCA BRIEFBAG
Levenger’s Majorca Briefbag is more a briefcase than an actual laptop case. However, it does have space for a laptop with up to a 15.4-inch screen, as well as all the cables. Both pockets on the Briefbag are gusseted so they open up to a surprisingly large size. The front pocket has special pouches for items such as a mobile phone, pens and a PDA. Unsurprisingly, the Majorca Briefbag will not offer enough protection to a laptop on long and bumpy journeys. The soft, nappa leather gives the bag a sumptious feel, but won’t take the strain of hauling a laptop onto trains and into overhead lockers. To use it for this you will need to invest in a padded slipcase to protect your laptop inside the bag. But, a hard one, such as The Slim (above), would be too bulky. However, it is still a great bag to take your laptop on the odd trip away from your desk, adding a bit more sophistication to the board room.
