The NEC ND3520A 16x DVD rewriter is good news for video enthusiasts and IT managers, allowing them to cram up to 8.5GB of data onto a single disc without having to wait around for ages. For maximum storage, the ND3520A creates dual layer discs in the minus format. The multi-format optical drive also burns DVD-R and DVD+R discs at 16x, and rewrites DVD-RW discs at 8x and DVD+RW at 4x. CDs can be created at a speed of up to 48x.

At top speed, one hour of DVD video is recorded in approximately six minutes. The unit supports Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, XP operating systems and the Windows 2003 server. Windows NT 4.0 is compatible if video editing is not required. The NEC ND3520A 16x DVD rewriter is on sale at UK retailers and online shops for roughly £47. It comes in beige, black and silver.
