PalmOne has launched a silver edition of the Zire 72 in the nick of time for Christmas shoppers. The Zire 72s gives a classy understated look to the popular handheld, eschewing the rubberised electric blue finish of the original. The limited edition model looks like it means business, while addressing the tendency of its colourful sibling’s paint to peel. Otherwise, its features are identical to the original Zire 72.

This means it’s decked out with Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and a high-resolution 1.2-megapixel camera. It also has the same bright 320 x 320-pixel screen, and a multimedia player for MP3s and video clips. Users can create and edit Word- and Excel-compatible files, while staying organised with standard PIM applications. The Zire 72s is available in UK stores for roughly £179.
