ACER COVERS ALL BASES 28/09/2004

Acer has introduced the latest addition to ultraportable range of business laptops, in the form of the TravelMate 380 series. Designed with the mobile business traveller in mind, the single-spindle design weighs in at 1.6kg and comes complete with an external optical drive. Buyers can opt between a combination DVD/CD-RW drive or the latest dual-format DVD-rewriter.

The TravelMate 380 is fully Centrino compatible and comes fitted with Intel’s PRO/wireless 2200BG Wi-Fi adapter. Acer is predicting an average battery life in the region of four-hours from a single charge. The use of integrated graphics and smaller 12.1-inch screen will add in the conservation of battery life.

The first of three models is now available in the form of the Acer TravelMate 382TMi £1210 (inc. VAT), which features an Intel Pentium M 725 (1.6GHz) processor, 512MB DDR SDRAM and a 60GB hard drive. One year International traveller’s warranty comes as standard on this model.
