With an eye on next year’s Yonah release, Kingston has released its first mobile specific DDR2 667-MHz (PC2-6400) memory modules. The Kingston ValueRAM 667-MHz DDR2 unbuffered SO-DIMM modules are available in 256MB (£36 inc. VAT), 512MB (£56 inc. VAT) and 1GB (£102 inc. VAT), capacities, and are available now.
Before you all rush out and buy into the new memory, it’s worth remembering only the ATi Xpress 200M chipset readily supports this memory at the moment, which isn’t exactly a common laptop occurrence. So, anyone trying to run it in their standard machine will be looking at overclocking issues – which we don’t recommend.
