CAPTURE IT ON VIDEO
As video phones grow in popularity, there's almost nowhere left to hide on a bad hair day. O2 has added the affordable X4 mobile phone to its own-branded range following the launch of its 3G network. The black-and-silver handset incorporates a 26K colour display, a 1.3-megapixel camera with fl ash and an MP3 player in a compact clamshell design. 3G subscribers can make video calls and access high-speed internet for streaming video clips from the O2 Active Portal. The dual-band mobile is also GPRS-enabled, in case you wander out of 3G network range. For saving media files, the mobile has 10MB internal memory and a miniSD slot with a 64MB storage card. The O2 X4 is priced from free to £30 with contract, or £249 (inc. VAT) for pre-pay customers.

RIBBITING TYPING ACTION
FrogPad breaks the QWERTY mould with its wireless Bluetooth iFrog one-handed keyboard. It has full-sized keys and an ergonomic layout claimed to be more efficient than QWERTY once you get the hang of it, with vowels in easy reach of your index finger. It offers ultimate portability when combined with a PDA or smartphone. You don't even need to get a seat on the train because you can type with one hand and hold the compact keyboard with the other. The 225g Bluetooth iFrog (£83 inc. VAT) comes in righty and lefty versions and is sold online through Expansys. Only time will tell if typists leap at the chance to free up a hand.
