ECS is refreshing its range with Sonoma laptops of every stripe, from widescreen to ultraportable. The company is introducing five models, with the requisite Pentium M Dothan processor, Alviso chipset, Intel PRO/Wireless ABG technology, and support for PCI Express.
The flagship ECS 910 17-inch widescreen media centre is fitted with nVidia GeForce 6800 graphics supported by 256MB VRAM, a TV tuner, a remote control and Windows XP Media Centre Edition support. For more portable entertainment, the 600 and 600L multimedia laptops have a 15.4-inch widescreen panel and ATI X700 or X300 graphics. Aimed at value-conscious consumers, the 558 has a 14.1 or 15.1-inch display and personal colour options. The ultraportable 223 weighs 2kg and offers a 12.1-inch screen, 1.3-megapixel camera and 4-in-1 card reader.
The ECS 600, 600L and 558 will ship in February, followed by the 223 in April and the 910 in June. Pricing not available at press time.
