Multimedia laptops are shrinking in size and growing in features. In line with this trend, AJP is launching a 12.1-inch widescreen model equipped with a 1.3-megapixel rotating camera. At a weight of 2.2 kg, the AJP G220 is designed for value-conscious consumers who want to take their videos, music and email with them.
The system is powered by Intel’s 1.5GHz Celeron M processor, the more affordable sibling of the Pentium M. Buyers can upgrade to a 2.0GHz Pentium M chip. A 40GB hard drive and 256 RAM memory is installed as standard, although a maximum 80GB hard drive and 1GB RAM memory is possible. The AJP G220 has an integrated graphics solution with 64MB shared VRAM.
Users can readily transfer media files from cameras and other devices using the 4-in-1 card reader. The 802.11g Wi-Fi antenna allows you to wirelessly access Internet. For connectivity, the sturdy magnesium aluminium alloy casing has three USB ports and Firewire, as well as one PC card slot. A DVD/CD-RW drive is fitted as standard, although you can upgrade to a DVD burner. AJP has also thrown in a software bundle with the Nero burning suite and PANDA anti-virus.
The AJP G220 will be available in November for £739 (inc. VAT and delivery).
