Continuing its acclaimed multimedia Qosmio range, Toshiba recently announced the release of the Qosmio F20. Representing a smaller and more affordable option than Toshiba’s flagship Qosmio G20 laptop, the F20 ships with a 15.4-inch widescreen TFT panel, and costs as much as £1000 less.
Designed as a 4-in-1 multimedia system, the F20 packs LCD TV, DVD/HDD Recorder, digital audio and PC features into its small chassis. Powered by a choice of Intel Pentium M processor, users can enjoy speeds of up to 2.13GHz along with the inherent mobility of the Pentium M chip architecture. Up to 1GB of DDR2 memory can be bought as standard, with the F20 allowing users to further upgrade at a later date to as much as 2GB of RAM.
As expected for such a multimedia targeted laptop, the power of PCI-Express technology is used for graphics, in the shape of an nVidia GeForce Go 6600 chip using 128MB of dedicated video memory. In combination with its 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and TruBrite screen, the F20 promises high quality images and impressive graphics ability.
Rounding out the picture is a pair of Harman Kardon stereo speakers, as well as a terrestrial TV-Tuner, dual-layer DVD Super Multi Drive, and Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition operating system preinstalled. Retailing from £1299 (inc. VAT), the Qosmio F20 is available now.
