NEC has unveiled its superslim E949 clamshell camera phone deemed to be the ‘world’s thinnest,’ a whopping 2mm skinnier than the Moto RAZR. It features a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and a 1.9-inch 65K-colour display. While these aren’t earth-shaking specifications, they are crammed into a 12mm casing weighing a mere 96g.
The tri-band mobile offers GPRS connectivity for web browsing and PictBridge, JAVA and MP3 support. It will hit Hong Kong initially, with a UK debut scheduled for the end of 2005.
