Medion GoPal E3215 Glamour Edition

It’s easy to think of consumer technology as a male-dominated market, but look hard enough and there are plenty of electronic products aimed at women. Medion’s GoPal E3215 Glamour Edition is one such device, and landed in the What Laptop office last week.
It’s a compact and tidy-looking satellite navigation device, but it’s difficult not to be cynical. Finished in metallic-pink, with a matching case, Medion hopes the ladies will be wooed by the predictable colouring and dinky dimensions (a handbag-friendly 92 x 81 x 17mm).
In reality, aside from the glitzy case and colour options, there’s little to distinguish the Glamour Edition from any other GPS device. Maps are provided that cover the UK and parts of Western Europe. Additional mapping, photographs or MP3s can be added via SD card. The GoPal comes with the usual accessories – in-car charger and windscreen mount.
We haven’t had the opportunity to extensively test the E3215, but first impressions are favourable. The 3.5-inch screen is bright, and the touchscreen interface proved easy to use straight out of the box.
