Need to keep in touch with your desk, your office or even just your home? The i-Mate PDA2K GSM/GPRS Pocket PC Phone (£575 inc. VAT), which as a brand is extremely popular in Australasia, is a quad-band device that takes advantage of GPRS services so you can receive email and surf the Internet regardless of your location.
Peripheral Corner, who describes the device as being “very similar to the O2 XDA III”, is one of a number of companies distributing the I-Mate PDA2K in this country. The unit is supplied unlocked, so it can be used on any GSM network.
The unit is a fully integrated voice enabled GSM/GPRS device runs Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition that comes with an integrated QWERTY keyboard, so writing emails and editing documents on the move should be simple. The addition of an integrated VGA digital camera adds to the flexibility of the device.
With integrated 802.11b Wi-Fi capabilities users can connect either to hotspots or office networks with ease. With the obligatory Bluetooth also present users can synchronise files with their laptop. If none of these options appeal, you can always simply use the i-Mate PDA2K as a mobile phone.
