The Olympus DM-20 Conference Kit (£499 ex. VAT) is designed to make note taking in larger meetings much easier. The centre piece of the kit is the Olympus DM-20 digital voice recorder, which picks up signals from two stereo microphones – also included. The DM-20 is made of brushed metal, and the large LCD panel on the front of the unit highlights important information, such as battery life, sound quality settings and recording time.
Record and playback buttons are located on the side of the unit, while the built-in speaker is at the back. TheDM-20 can record for up to 44 hours at its lowest quality setting and up to four hours at the highest setting. Sadly, Olympus has removed the removable storage option, limiting the amount of space available to the user. The voice recorder is only one element of the Conference Kit. It also includes two stereo microphones, which can be set up to cover any meeting room. These come with their own stands, which look impressive and make the system easy to set up.
