SONY ERICSSON PLAYS UP 08/08/2005

As mobiles morph into MP3 players in a quest for our pocket real estate, Sony Ericsson has shown its expertise by unveiling the W550i Walkman phone. It sports a media-friendly design with an FM radio, 1.8-inch 262K-colour screen, 1.3-megapixel camera and dedicated gaming buttons. CD ripping software is included in the box, along with drag-and-drop Disc2Phone functionality. It comes in Universe Blue, Orchid White and Vibrant Orange. The quoted battery life is a lengthy 8.5 hours talk time and 400 hours standby for the tri-band handset.

The Sony Ericsson W550i is set to debut in the UK in November.
