The Sony VAIO S-Series laptops have made their mark amongst mobile professionals, and now consumers will get a piece of the ultraportable action with the launch of the S4 range. For the business user, the S4-series comes in basic black with Bluetooth functionality and Windows XP Professional. Available at a lower price point, the consumer S4M model has the same 13.3-inch widescreen panel with X-Black for a sharper picture, but it runs Windows XP Home and comes in silver.
Across the range, business and home users alike will appreciate the compact 1.9kg form factor, the latest Intel Pentium M processors, the speedy DDR2 SDRAM memory, and Centrino wireless technology. Plug & Display functionality automatically adjusts the resolution to match an external display connected to the laptop, and a built-in Memory Stick slot makes it easy to transfer files from other Sony electronics.
“Demand for lightweight, powerful and extremely versatile notebooks is not just limited to the business market,” said Colin Woodward, Sony Group Product Manager for IT.
