BenQ has dived into the multimedia fray with the feature-packed S700 camera phone. The clamshell handset boasts a 1.3-megapixel camera with flash, an MP3 player and “smooth cinema-like” video playback.
Mobile users can record video at five resolutions, up to 30 frames per second, and can view their clips in widescreen mode. For still shots, the high-resolution camera has 8x digital zoom and takes printable photos. The MP3 player features easy-to-use function keys and an embedded speaker for sharing tunes with others.
Memory is in the form of a mini SD slot, and the phone comes with a 32MB mini SD card with adapter for storing video and images. You can transfer data and charge the device using the USB1.1 port. The S700 has tri-band reception and weighs a mere 90g. It will be in stores by the end of October, and pricing information is not yet available.
