X ON THE CHEAP Following the launch of its first budget mobile, the X1, O2 is hoping to replicate its success with the release of the X2. Not only does it feature a new, improved user interface (and if you’ve used the old one you’ll know it certainly needs it), it also comes in a redesigned chassis. Like the X1, the X2 is also being marketed as a budget device (£150 inc. VAT) with the main focus on young, pay-as-you-go customers. It doesn’t scrimp on features, however. The tri-band GSM/GPRS phone has a 65,000-colour screen, VGA digital camera and Java support.
