You known wireless LAN has finally come to the attention of the masses when security technology companies start to invest in the technology. So it is with the news that McAfee is willing to pay $20 Million for Wireless Security, a company that specialises in security wireless products for consumers and small businesses. McAfee acquired all of Wireless Security's outstanding stock, technologies and assets.

Analysts are suggesting that the deal will allow McAfee to approach ISPs with a view to offering them enhanced services.

Wireless Security supports almost all wireless routers from such vendors as LinkSys, Netgear and D-link. McAfee is expected to add the applications to the host of its core packages, including its Internet Security Suite, VirusScan and Personal Firewall products.
