Following the success of its ThinkPad X300 business ultraportable, Lenovo has expanded the range with the release of the ThinkPad X301. Building on the strengths that made the original such an impressive corporate system, the upgrade adds greater storage, improved wireless connectivity and a claimed 20 per cent increase in performance.
The 64GB Solid State Drive seen in the original X300 can now be configured to 128GB for double the storage space, without sacrificing speed or stability. The latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors have now also been added to the range alongside high-speed DDR3 memory, for outstanding performance on the move.
For staying connected on your travels, HSDPA wireless broadband access is included, as well as the standard 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, and Bluetooth and Ultra-Wideband technology for connecting wirelessly to peripherals. WiMAX support will also be available later in the year, as well as GPS for navigating without the need for a separate sat-nav device.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X301 will be available in October with prices starting at £1879 (£1599 ex. VAT).
