Coinciding with the release of the ultraportable Latitude X1, Dell is adding two more laptops to its Inspiron range – the Inspiron 1200 and 2200.
Aimed at the budget consumer and touted as an entry-level solution, the Inspiron 1200 provides the basic requirements necessary from a laptop in order to keep costs down. Powered by an Intel Celeron M 350 processor with a running speed of 1.3GHz, the Inspiron 1200 is intended to deliver optimal mobile computing without sacrificing performance. Optional Wi-Fi capabilities can be added via PC-Card, and the system allows disc creation via a fixed DVD/CD-RW optical drive.
Providing more power for the consumer seeking both performance and value is the Inspiron 2200. Fully configurable, the 2200 offers a choice of Intel Celeron M or Pentium M processors, with integrated graphics provided by an Intel UMA Graphics adapter. Adding the option to include DVD+/-RW compatibility, users can also take full advantage of the extended storage space of recordable DVD discs.
Available now, the Inspiron 1200 and 2200 start at £503 and £549 respectively (inc. VAT and delivery). Full details can be found on the Dell website.
